Vardenafil Accord 4 Film Coated Tablet ( 5 mg, 10 mg, 20 mg )
Vardenafil Accord is a prescription drug used in erectile dysfunction. It is the generic version of the Bayer drug, Levitra. The patent on this treatment expired in October 2018, enabling other manufacturers to produce Vardenafil as a generic medicine. It works by easing pressure in blood vessels, and facilitating better blood flow to the penis. Vardenafil is available in three different doses: 5mg, 10mg and 20mg.
Erectile dysfunction is a characterised by an inability to achieve or sustain an erection firm enough for sexual intercourse. It’s a common problem, thought to affect at least half of men over the age of 40; however, many younger men experience the condition too. Often the issue can resolve on its own after a short time, but in cases where symptoms persist, treatment may be able to help.
What causes erection problems?
There are several possible causes of erectile dysfunction (known also as impotence or ED). Psychological or emotional factors can often play a part, such as pressure to perform in a new relationship, feelings of stress or worry (which may not necessarily be connected to the act of sex itself), or depression. Lifestyle habits, for example smoking, alcohol consumption and not getting enough exercise, can induce symptoms as well.
In some cases, a health condition like high blood pressure, high cholesterol or diabetes or may be the root cause. So, if you develop erectile dysfunction and find that symptoms persist, it’s a good idea to see a doctor about the issue, so that they can rule out any underlying condition that may be behind it.
When treating ED, a doctor may suggest making lifestyle changes to help tackle symptoms. This might include cutting down on alcohol intake, quitting smoking, or exercising more. However in some instances, these measures may not be enough, and prescription treatment may be necessary.
How does generic Vardenafil Accord work?
Vardenafil is a type of medicine called a PDE5 inhibitor. The treatment was originally developed by Bayer and released in 2003 under the name Levitra.
Taking Vardenafil Accord 5mg or 10mg
If you have not used Vardenafil before your doctor will most likely recommend a 5mg starting dose. However, if 5mg has been found to be insufficient then your doctor may prescribe the 10mg dose.
Taking Vardenafil 20mg
The 20mg dose is usually reserved for men when use of the lower doses has not worked. It is important that the 20mg dose is only taken when your doctor prescribes it.
